New York Pepper Steak
Ingredients:
- 2 New York Steaks
- 1/4 tsp chili pepper
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1/2 cup parsley
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat a skillet to medium-high. Spread each new york steak with olive oil, salt and pepper. Sear each side of the New York Steaks for approx 2-3 minutes. Reduce heat to medium heat and continue to fry until desired doneness (approx 10-15 minutes). Meanwhile, mix chili pepper, garlic, parsley, thyme and vinegar in a mixing bowl. Remove the new york pepper steak from the skillet and serve with the chili mixture on top. Serve immediately with fresh vegetables.
Grilled New York Strip Steak with Mushrooms
Ingredients:
- 2 New York Strip Steaks
- 1 clove garlic
- 5 cups sliced mushrooms of choice
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1/4 cup merlot
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat grill to high heat. Flavor the New York strip steaks with salt and pepper and sear each side for 1-2 minutes. Reduce the grill heat to medium and cook each side for 7-10 minutes, flipping the New York steaks only once. Meanwhile, melt butter over medium heat in frying pan and saute the chopped onion and garlic until transparent (approx 2 minutes). Then add the Merlot and mushrooms to the onion mixture and allow the sauce to reduce to half (approx 7-10 minutes). Slice 1/2 inch cuts into the grilled new york steak and smother with mushroom sauce. Serve steaks immediately with mashed potatoes and asparagus.
