New York Steak and Applesauce

Ingredients:
- 2 New York steaks
- 1/2 cup apple sauce
- 5 tbsp beef stock
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
In a saucepan, over medium heat, add the apple sauce, beef stock, and nutmeg and heat until reduced (approx 10-15 minutes).  Flavor each side of the New York Steak with salt and pepper.   In a frying pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and sear all sides of the New York strip steaks.   Reduce heat to medium and allow each side of steak to cook for 7-10 minutes.  Remove New York Steaks from stove and cut 1/2 inch grooves into strip steaks.  Pour apple sauce mixture over New York strip steaks and serve immediately. Serve with sweet potato wedges and bread or rolls.
 

New York Steak with Gourmet Steak Sauce

Ingredients:
- 2 New York Steaks
- 1 clove garlic
- 4 tbsp syrup
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 5 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp salt

Directions:
Mix the olive oil, cinnamon, and syrup in a medium, shallow bowl.  Tenderize each New York steak and flavor them with salt and pepper.  Place each New York steak into the syrup bowl and allow them to marinade for approximately 1 hour.  Meanwhile, preheat the grill to medium high and sear each side of the New York steak for 1-2 minutes.  Reduce gthe rill heat to medium and cook each side for 7-10 minutes, flipping the steaks only once.  Serve immediately with mixed vegetables and fresh bread.
